Hello and welcome to the Marsco Information and Research blog. I've set this blog up because after a few years of working for voluntary sector library and information services I've learned a couple of things I can pass on. I'm also interested in how social software and Web 2.0 can help these services. We'll also be discussing doing things on the cheap!
I'm still faffing the blog layout but I'm bookmarking so many useful things I want to link to/talk about I've had to get going.

Many organisations can't afford expensive software, but often free open source software is the answer. You can also use it alongside paid for software, for example I surf the web using open source Firefox but I use Microsoft Word for writing documents.
Tame the Web links to an interesting article, 'Free Finds for Frugal Libraries' which may be of interest/use.
